Deutsche Post: 200 thousand users’ data stolen

This article is a call for action as we have just learned that Deutsche Post has been hacked and more than 200,000 users’ data has been stolen. Germany is not the only one to suffer from this, but it is still shocking to learn of the breach.

The case

We tend to think that everything is better in Germany. While we’re probably right about postal services, we have to admit that things aren’t all that great elsewhere either. The personal data of 200,000 users have been obtained from the servers of the German postal service, Deutsche Post, due to a piece of negligence.

When the system was converted to a new database, the old one was forgotten to be shut down so that anyone could download it.

Did you know?

Did you know that the German postal service boasts the largest fleet of electric delivery cars in Europe? The Deutsche Post also announced a partnership with Tesla to replace its entire vehicles with electric cars.

Conclusion

While Germany has some undeniable benefits, we think that everything is better in Germany. While we’re probably right about postal services, we have to admit that things aren’t all that great elsewhere either.
