Microsoft has introduced three new features to ensure passwords don’t fall into the wrong hands.

Phishing can cause serious harm to users, with Microsoft itself estimating that last year alone, it ‘caught’ 36 billion pieces of mail that were in some way hunting for users’ data. The protection was, of course, provided by Defender, Windows’ built-in antivirus. It is not surprising that the company is looking to move up a level and develop new solutions to prevent successful attacks. That’s why Windows 11 will include a new line of defense against phishing, which can be turned on and configured in Settings. The new features are already available for testing by Insider program participants, who have been able to try them out using the Windows n 22H2 beta (build 22593.1). The beta status is reflected in the fact that the Hungarian translation of the interface is not yet ready, but there is still plenty of time before the autumn when the package is expected to be released. The focus is on password protection, of course.

The first of these new features warns you about malicious apps and websites, and the second alert you when you try to set a password that has been involved in a data leakage scandal. The third module sends a warning when a password is saved in plain text files in unencrypted form.

As Microsoft has pointed out, Windows will be the first operating system to offer out-of-the-box protection against some forms of phishing with these new features.

What is Anti-phishing mean?

Anti-phishing is the process of protecting against phishing attacks. Phishing is a type of online fraud where attackers try to trick victims into giving them personal information or money. Anti-phishing measures can help protect against these attacks by teaching users how to spot phishing emails and providing tools to block or report phishing emails.

What is Windows Defender?

Windows Defender is a security program that comes with Windows 10. It helps protect your PC from viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. Defender runs in the background and monitors your PC for suspicious activity. If it finds anything suspicious, it will alert you and give you the option to remove the threat.
